Welcome to Jane Langdale’s lab website.

Research in the lab is broadly themed upon the genetics and evolution of plant development. We use diverse taxa including mosses, ferns and seed plants to investigate how developmental mechanisms were modified during land plant evolution. In addition, and as part of the Plants for the 21st Century Institute, we are transferring our knowledge of chloroplast development into agronomically important food crops such as rice, with the aim of boosting the food supply for future generations.
